Job Description:
Location: Aimargues, France - near Montpellier (Occitanie region), with easy access to the Mediterranean coast and major transport hubs.
Segment: Royal Canin
Type of contract: Fixed term contract
What are we looking for?
- You bring a first successful experience in HSE within a complex industrial environment.
- You have experience within Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) organizations.
- You bring Regulatory Compliance competences: deep knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and have expertise in monitoring and applying local and European HSE legislation.
- You bring experience in Risk Management and have ability to conduct environmental risk analyses (waste, water, emissions management, etc).
- You proven ability to lead investigations for accidents/incidents using Root Cause Analysis, and have experience in defining and tracking effective corrective and preventive action plans.
- You have a strong safety culture with experience training teams engaging them within this field.
- You have experience in environmental management with ability to manage and report on environmental performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- You have strong competencies in communication.
- You have abilities to collaborate and build partnerships and work collaboratively with the all plant.
- You are confident with IT tools.
- You are agile optimizing work processes and high communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent Level.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- You'll manage suppliers (monitor, review, and identify supplier deficiencies).
- You'll collect data and analyze key cost factors, market dynamics and complexities, areas for innovation and alternatives by supplier to provide reliable data for decision making.
- You'll continuously improve the existing process.
- You'll determine contract requirements and draft specifications for existing and/or new contracts.
- You'll perform inventory management at following existing procedures.
- Ensure site maintains continuous state of compliance with HSE company standards and governmental regulation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of all company HSE Standards as they apply to the site.
- Develop and deploy the site specific HSE programs and plans to position the site as a best in class organization.
- Delivers training and coaching to establish clear understanding / engagement by all site associates on HSE expectations.
- Ensures investigation of all HSE related incidents utilizing specific tools to drive to root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence, report in timely manner accidents following local legal requirements. Drives implementation and completion of corrective actions, including corrective actions developed from other site incidents.
- Serves in conjunction with site HSE Manager, as a HSE technical expert, providing technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function to include capital project safety and environmental review and risks management associated with non-capital modifications.
- Ability to influence where direct lines of authority do not exist.
- Promotes a positive safety culture through effective safety awareness and recognition programs.
- Leads and ensures the site emergency response team (ERT) has the tools, skills and knowledge to effectively respond to site HSE emergencies.
- Leads site efforts to measure and improve Industrial Hygiene Risk. This includes but is not limited to dust, noise, and chemical exposure.
- Manages a variety of HSE Systems like POKA, Fabrik, Enablon data entry and PPE Vending Machines.
- Manages the overall site Contractor Safety program to reduce risk associated with construction and trade contactor activity. Ensures project managers are accountable for proper management of contractors.
- Oversees a variety of HSE Programs with responsibilities related to equipment inventories, inspections, training, risk reduction and improvement projects.
- Assists with execution of security requirements related to Food Defense Standard.
- Manages Risk Management activities associated with asset conservation and property loss control. Drives timely corrective actions to third party loss risk assessments and audits.
- Works with third party risk control experts to ensure compliance with company standards on new projects. Supports audit efforts to maintain and improve favorable insurance ratings.
- Ability and willingness to flex work hours on occasion to support the site needs, including night and weekend hours.
- Responsible for managing internal audit program and supports ISO 14001 certification.
- Participates on Safety Pillar Team and initiatives.
- Participates and collaborates with the CSSCT meetings, visits and follow-up on actions.
- Participates in other site programs as needed to support the overall success of the site.
- Backup coverage for site HSE Manager as required.
